Picnic on the Lawn | America 250 Celebration

Celebrate 250 Years of America with an afternoon of music, community, and local history at the Naugatuck History Museum’s July 4th Picnic on the Tuttle Lawn.

As communities across the country commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, this special event invites visitors to reflect on America’s past while enjoying a traditional summer gathering filled with music, games, and family-friendly activities.

From 12:00 to 4:00 PM, enjoy live entertainment presented in collaboration with the Naugatuck Arts Commission, featuring performances by a community band and DJ throughout the afternoon on the outdoor stage near the Tuttle House.

The museum will host a variety of activities on the lawn, including cornhole, badminton, crochet activities, face painting, and a special opportunity to try on historic costumes from the museum’s collection and take photos.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets to relax and enjoy the afternoon outdoors.

The museum will also be open from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM for visitors interested in exploring local history before or during the event.

Please note that this event is weather dependent. In the event of severe weather, the entire event will be canceled.
