For twenty-four hours, your gift will help us bring this important America 250 project to life.
During Give Local 2026, the Naugatuck Historical Society is raising funds to create a permanent, research-based digital exhibit dedicated to Frank “Spec” Shea. This online exhibit will explore his Major League Baseball career, his service in the United States Army during World War II, and his enduring connection to Naugatuck.
As we commemorate America 250, this project places Shea’s story within the broader American narrative. His life reflects hometown pride, national service, and the powerful ways local history connects to the American experience.
